Cups – Water – Icosahedron

Cups are connected to the element of water. This is the realm of emotion, intuition and the heart. Cups represent love, relationships, and things that make you cry tears of sadness and joy. You’re composed of water. You need it to live. It nurtures and cleanses you, but just as emotions can be overwhelming, water can also drown or sweep you away.

Water always finds a way to get to where it needs to be, and it’s willing to take its time to loosen blockages and erode rock. Like water, love is also a human necessity. It fills your cup but can also break and harden your heart. It inspires a depth of feeling and emotions, all of which appear in the suit of Cups.

A cup is a vessel that holds space and receives. It encourages you to drink deeply and gaze within. You can transform your consciousness the same way that water will take on the shape of its vessel. The UCT’s cups are made of solid gold because it is a precious metal, and a symbol of spiritual perfection.

The icosahedron is also connected to the element of water. 20 equilateral triangles make up the faces of the icosahedron. This shape holds energy, rather than directing it. Meditating on this form encourages you to understand and flow with your emotions, and to make your heart your sacred sanctuary.
